Saltair Modular collaborated with Badge to deliver an award-winning disabled accommodation facility, Shelly’s Camp. The project, which adhered to accessibility requirements, involved extensive renovations and the construction of 15 dual-module accommodations, each housing over six beds. Despite the pandemic-related restrictions, Saltair Modular and Badge successfully completed the project, showcasing the effectiveness of their stakeholder collaboration.
The primary challenge was executing a large-scale renovation and new build during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The restrictions on movement, limited workforce availability, and stringent health protocols required Saltair to adapt our processes to ensure the project remained on schedule while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. Additionally, the project needed to meet the strict standards for disabled access, further complicating the design and construction process.
Saltair, in close partnership with Badge, leveraged our turnkey service approach to streamline the project from design to delivery. The use of dual-module, camp-style accommodations allowed for efficient construction and compliance with AS1428 standards. By employing innovative construction techniques and rigorous planning, Saltair ensured that the 30 modules, averaging 75m² each, were completed on time and to specification. The collaborative approach with Badge ensured seamless communication and problem-solving, enabling the project to progress smoothly despite the external challenges.
