Positioned on an elevated block overlooking the ocean, this two-storey modular home in Coolum Beach redefines coastal family living. Designed for multi-generational functionality without compromising on style, the home features seven modules over two levels, totalling 270m² of considered space. The upper level is dedicated to main family living, including an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area that opens onto decks oriented to catch sea breezes and sweeping coastal views. The lower level offers a fully self-contained retreat with two bedrooms, perfect for teenagers seeking independence or extended family requiring privacy. The home showcases Saltair’s signature finishes and premium build quality, proving that modular construction can achieve refined architecture tailored to lifestyle and landscape.
The site presented a steep and technically demanding delivery scenario. Access to the block required trucks to park on a sharp incline, creating uneven module positioning before crane lifts. Overhead, an intricate web of powerlines crossed the delivery path, leaving only minimal clearance for safe crane operation. With both gravity and infrastructure working against the team, this installation required absolute precision and flawless timing.
Installation day was a display of strategic planning and expert execution. Working in coordinated sequence, each module was stabilised on the angled road before being lifted. The crane operator executed precise manoeuvres, threading each module safely between multiple overhead powerlines. Every movement required calculated control to prevent swing and maintain module integrity. Despite the complexity, all seven modules were installed smoothly and efficiently, demonstrating the advantage of partnering with a builder experienced in technical access challenges. Once installed, the home embraced the natural slope of the land to create functional split-level living. The upper-level living zones capture panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, while the raised structure forms a sheltered carport beneath, making smart use of the block’s terrain. The interior features a light, coastal palette layered with texture and detail — from engineered timber floors to stone benchtops and bespoke joinery. With a focus on longevity, lifestyle, and layout flexibility, this home delivers premium coastal living with architectural presence.
