Faced with the challenges of constructing a home in a remote location, the clients turned to Saltair for a modular solution that would meet their unique needs and lifestyle. They sought a design that provided both privacy and flexibility while reflecting their love for the countryside. Sustainability was also a top priority, with the couple desiring a fully off-grid solution that minimised their environmental footprint.
The couple's remote location presented logistical challenges typical of rural builds, including limited access to traditional construction resources.
Saltair worked closely with the clients, utilising our design system to create a custom modular home that met all their requirements. The design included eight custom modules, featuring breezeways and louvres, which created a light-filled, airy living space. To accommodate the demands of rural living, the home was equipped with a walk-in pantry, an enlarged laundry 'mud-room,' and a central fireplace with a Skamotec 225 feature wall.
