Set on a generous 1,400m² allotment in Bellara, Bribie Island, just two blocks from the water and surrounded by parks and amenities, this community residence development brings together thoughtful design and robust functionality. The project comprises one two-bedroom High Physical Support (HPS) home alongside two one-bedroom Robust villas, each carefully planned to exceed NDIS design standards while creating welcoming, liveable spaces in a peaceful coastal setting.
Designing homes to meet the complex requirements of both High Physical Support and Robust living presented a need for balance: ensuring strict compliance with NDIS standards while still delivering comfort, privacy, and a homelike feel.
This innovative Specialist Disability Accommodation project was delivered in partnership with Apollo SDA. Each dwelling features a spacious bedroom with a customised ensuite bathroom, carefully tailored for accessibility and ease of use. To maximise safety and support, the residences incorporate a fully separated Onsite Overnight Accommodation (OOA) for carers, along with comprehensive emergency planning and integrated fire sprinkler systems. Beyond compliance, the project also considered long-term sustainability. Energy assessments and sustainability reviews informed the inclusion of insulation and solar panels, reducing annual utility costs for residents while enhancing efficiency. The result is a discreet, well-integrated development that enhances the Bellara community, providing residents with homes that combine safety, practicality, and quality in a desirable coastal location.
