Set high on a ridge in Bald Knob, this spectacular multi-generational modular home was designed to make a bold statement both architecturally and geographically. With eight modules, meticulously curated interior selections, and some of the best views the Sunshine Coast hinterland has to offer, this home proves that modular building can deliver entirely bespoke, luxury outcomes on even the most inaccessible sites.
The site presented significant access challenges. With only one steep, narrow dirt road in and out, standard delivery methods simply weren’t feasible. The complexity of navigating large vehicles on such terrain added a logistical layer that required strategic planning and precise execution.
Delivery day was a feat of coordination and ingenuity. Each truck arrived one at a time, and after its module was craned onto site, the trailer had to be detached. To exit, the crane lifted and rotated the trailer so the truck could turn around on the narrow track, then reattached it to descend safely. The resulting home is as remarkable as its journey to site. Its finishes reflect a distinctly curated and luxurious feel, with each space tailored to the specific requests of the client. In the master suite, a freestanding bath sits in the centre of an open-plan bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen features a striking mix of joinery, chosen for both texture and tone. A suspended wood fireplace, set atop a round stone hearth, creates a dramatic focal point in the living space, and is a standout feature that brings both warmth and architectural presence to the home. Throughout, the layout is layered with personal touches, including multiple bar sinks, ice makers, and a designated area to house the client’s DJ booth, making this a home unapologetically tailored to its owner.
