Nestled high in the hinterland, this stunning split-level modular home was designed to follow the natural contours of the sloping block while maximising panoramic views. With a unique layout and innovative module shapes, this project is a testament to how modular construction can offer bespoke, high-end results in challenging locations.
The site presented multiple challenges, from its steep, sloping terrain to difficult access via winding, narrow dirt roads. On delivery day, an added challenge emerged - the entire block was shrouded in thick cloud cover, making crane operations particularly tricky.
Saltair’s expertise in designing for complex sites made this project possible. The home features an angled layout, carefully designed to follow the shape of the block and maximise the stunning views. To achieve this, several modules were designed in triangular shapes - departing from the usual rectangular format - allowing the home to seamlessly hug the landscape. Despite the difficult access, the Saltair team worked closely with the crane company to ensure a smooth and efficient installation. The final result? A breathtaking, light-filled home with a spacious kitchen, a walk-in pantry with abundant storage, a luxurious walk-in robe, and thoughtfully placed windows, including fixed and louvred options, to enhance views and airflow. The clients are absolutely thrilled with their home, proving once again that modular can achieve the extraordinary, even in the clouds.
