Saltair Proud to Partner on Haven House Ruth

Saltair is proud to be the building partner for Haven House Ruth on the Sunshine Coast, a project delivering real, tangible impact for women and children escaping domestic and family violence.

Built in partnership with the Property Industry Foundation and The Salvation Army Australia, this three-bedroom home provides safe, secure crisis accommodation for those in urgent need of protection, stability and support.
A Safe Haven for Women and Children

Haven House Ruth has been carefully created as more than just a roof over someone’s head. It is a place where women and children can:

  • Find immediate safety away from violence
  • Regain a sense of privacy and dignity
  • Begin to rebuild their lives with support-minded design and services

The home’s layout and setting have been considered to balance security, comfort and calm, offering welcoming spaces where families can rest, reset and start to plan their next chapter.

Collaboration with Purpose

This project is a powerful example of what can be achieved when industry comes together with a shared purpose.

The Property Industry Foundation and The Salvation Army play a vital role in:

  • Bringing construction and property partners together
  • Channeling skills, funding and materials into community-focused projects
  • Creating built solutions that directly address youth and family homelessness

Haven House Ruth is one of those solutions in action. It shows how collective effort can move beyond conversation and into real, built outcomes that change lives.

As part of this collaboration, Saltair was honoured to contribute our expertise in design and delivery to help bring the vision for Haven House Ruth to life - on time, to a high standard, and with the needs of residents at the heart of every decision.

More Than Shelter: Wraparound Support

A crucial part of Haven House Ruth is that it doesn’t stand alone. Through The Salvation Army, women and children who arrive here are supported with:

  • Crisis and ongoing case management
  • Access to counselling and emotional support
  • Practical assistance with health, schooling and everyday essentials
  • Guidance in navigating long-term housing and stability

This wraparound support ensures that Haven House Ruth is not only a safe place to stay, but a platform for long-term change. It helps women like Jane (name changed) not just to escape violence, but to move forward with dignity, support and hope.

The Impact of Haven House

Projects like Haven House Ruth remind us why partnerships between the private sector and community organisations matter so much. They:

  • Turn industry capability into community outcomes
  • Create safe, stable environments for vulnerable families
  • Show how thoughtful housing can support social services
  • Demonstrate the role construction can play in addressing homelessness

For Saltair, being involved in a project of this nature is a privilege and a responsibility. We see it as part of our broader commitment to using our skills, resources and experience to support safe, inclusive and resilient communities.

Standing Together for Real Change

We are deeply grateful to the Property Industry Foundation and The Salvation Army for inviting us to be part of Haven House Ruth, and for the tireless work they do supporting people facing homelessness and family violence.

Saltair is honoured to stand alongside them in their mission to create real, lasting change - one safe home, one supported family and one community-focused project at a time.
